5-Methylisoxazole-4-carboxamide is a growth factor that has been shown to stimulate skin cancer cell growth. It is believed to cause this by inhibiting the cycle analysis of these cells, thereby preventing the production of proteins essential for cell division. 5-Methylisoxazole-4-carboxamide inhibits epidermal growth through its ability to inhibit epidermal growth factor (EGF) and prevent its binding to EGF receptors on cells. This compound also has anticancer activity against murine leukemia, meningioma, and other cancers in animal models. 5-Methylisoxazole-4-carboxamide is an immunosuppressant that can be used as an antirheumatic drug for the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.END>
