4-Hydrazinylphenol is a synthetic analog of 8-hydroxyquinoline that is used in the industrial process as a base catalyst. It has been shown to catalyze oxidations and aminations of carbonyls, including the synthesis of esters and amides. 4-Hydrazinylphenol has also been shown to be stereoselective in its reactions, which are dependent on the orientation of the molecule with respect to the hydrazine group. The chemical properties of 4-hydrazinylphenol have not been studied extensively due to its limited availability.
