Informazioni sul prodotto
2-Methylsulfanyl-3-phenyl-3H-quinazolin-4-one is an arylacetic acid derivative that has shown significant analgesic activity in animal models. The chemical structure of this compound is similar to those of aspirin, a well known analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent. 2MSQ has been shown to have ulcerogenic effects in animals but not in humans. This may be due to the fact that 2MSQ does not inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, unlike other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). NSAIDs are known to cause bleeding by inhibiting platelet aggregation and increasing the production of thromboxane A2 (TXA2), which leads to vasoconstriction. Other pharmacological effects of 2MSQ include its ability to inhibit cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes and protein synthesis.
2MSQ also binds with high affinity to amino groups on proteins and inhibits their
