1-(8Z-Hexadecenoyl)-rac-glycerol is a synthetic peptide that can be used as a research tool to study protein interactions. It has been shown to inhibit the activation of the human erythrocyte membrane protein C receptor (EP2) by prostaglandin E2 and other ligands. 1-(8Z-Hexadecenoyl)-rac-glycerol is an agonist at EP3 and EP4 receptors, but an antagonist at EP1 receptors. It also activates the TRPC6 channel in rat neurons, which may be useful in treating pain.
