YW3-56 is a cyclic peptide that activates transcription of target genes. It binds to Toll-like receptor 9, a protein that is involved in the immune system response to infection. YW3-56 has been shown to suppress the proliferation of cancer cells and induce autophagy, a process by which cells degrade their own components. This drug also has potential as a biomarker for prostate cancer.
