Informazioni sul prodotto
2-Methyl simvastatin is a peptide that is used as a research tool for studying receptor binding and ion channel function. It has also been shown to inhibit the production of cytokines, such as interleukin-1β and tumor necrosis factor-α, by inhibiting protein interactions with the receptor. 2-Methyl simvastatin binds to the ligand binding site of receptors on cells and blocks the interaction of these receptors with their natural ligands. This inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines.
2-Methyl simvastatin is an inhibitor of cholesterol synthesis, which lowers blood cholesterol levels in humans. It also acts as an agonist for peroxisome proliferator activated receptor gamma (PPARγ), a nuclear receptor that regulates transcriptional activity in response to fatty acids and their metabolites.
