Cyjohnphos hbf4 is a research tool that binds to an ion channel and blocks its activity. Cyjohnphos hbf4 has been shown to be an activator of the ligand-gated ion channels, such as nicotinic acetylcholine receptor and GABA receptors. This compound also binds to the GABAA receptor, which is responsible for regulating synaptic transmission in the brain. Cyjohnphos hbf4 has been shown to inhibit the activity of potassium channels in a voltage-dependent manner. It does not affect calcium or sodium channels. Cyjohnphos hbf4 has been used as an inhibitor of peptide binding in cell biology experiments and as a pharmacological tool when studying protein interactions.
