5'-O-tert-Butyldiphenylsilyl-thymidine (TBS-T) is a class of nucleoside that is synthesized by condensation of two molecules of 5'-O-tert-butyldiphenylsilyl-2',3'-dideoxyuridine (TBDPS) and N6-benzoyladenine. TBS-Ts are used in the synthesis of phosphorothioate oligodeoxynucleotides. They have been shown to be useful as activators for the formation of phosphite linkages at the 3' terminus of DNA oligonucleotides. TBS-T is also used in other applications, such as the preparation of diastereomerically pure nucleosides for use in chemical reactions.
