Ethyl 8-bromo-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[b][1,4]oxazine-2-carboxylate is a selective 5-HT2 receptor antagonist that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of autoimmune diseases. It has also been shown to reduce platelet activation and hyperproliferative diseases. The carboxylic acid moiety can be metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes to form an active form, which binds to the 5HT2 receptor. This drug has a safety profile similar to that of clopidogrel and does not present any significant adverse effects. Furthermore, it is not carcinogenic or mutagenic.
