Tetrabutylammonium acetate is a complex of tetrabutylammonium with the trifluoroacetate anion. It has been used as a reagent for the preparation of α-hydroxylated ketones, including natural products. Tetrabutylammonium acetate can be used in titration calorimetry to measure the heat evolved during the reaction between hydroxyl group and sodium salts.
