Eritromicina

Descrição:
Eritromicina é um antibiótico macrolídeo que é usado principalmente para tratar infecções bacterianas. É derivado da bactéria Saccharopolyspora erythraea e é eficaz contra uma variedade de bactérias Gram-positivas e algumas Gram-negativas. A estrutura química de Eritromicina apresenta um grande anel de lactona, que é característico dos macrolídeos, juntamente com vários grupos de açúcar que contribuem para sua solubilidade e atividade biológica. Eritromicina atua inibindo a síntese de proteínas bacterianas, impedindo assim o crescimento e a reprodução das bactérias. É comumente usado no tratamento de infecções do trato respiratório, infecções de pele e certas infecções sexualmente transmissíveis. Eritromicina está disponível em várias formulações, incluindo comprimidos orais, pomadas tópicas e preparações intravenosas. Embora geralmente seja bem tolerado, pode causar efeitos colaterais como distúrbios gastrointestinais e pode interagir com outros medicamentos devido aos seus efeitos sobre as enzimas hepáticas. A resistência a Eritromicina foi observada em algumas cepas bacterianas, o que pode limitar sua eficácia em certas infecções.
