CAS:Produto Controlado16-Dehydropregnenolone is a naturally occurring steroid hormone that is produced by the human body. It belongs to the group of pregnenolones and has transcription-polymerase chain activity in hepatic tissues. 16-Dehydropregnenolone has been shown to have anticancer properties in vitro and in vivo experiments. It has also been shown to be an optimum concentration for cervical cancer cells with a carbonyl group at C-16 position. 16-Dehydropregnenolone has low bioavailability due to its short half-life and phosphotungstic acid binding to its molecule, which can be resolved by using a LC-MS/MS method. Its reaction mechanism is currently unknown but it is known that 16-dehydropregnenolone binds to specific receptors in the cell, leading to cancer cell death.
