GB110 is a recombinant human EGF-like protein that has been shown to activate the epidermal growth factor receptor and induce cellular proliferation. GB110 has been shown to be effective in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal carcinoma. It is also used as a marker for detection of microbial infections, such as Helicobacter pylori, although it can be detected in other conditions such as inflammatory diseases. GB110 is structurally similar to EGF, but with a lower potency.
