CAS:N-Desmethyl sildenafil is a metabolite of sildenafil. It is found in human serum and is responsible for the matrix effect. N-Desmethyl sildenafil is a selective inhibitor of CYP3A4, which has been shown to have pharmacological treatment effects on human cyp3a4, as well as on other basic proteins. It has been used to study metabolic disorders and renal function in humans. N-Desmethyl sildenafil binds to recombinant cytochrome P450 and inhibits the activity of this enzyme. It also inhibits the activity of human cyp3a4, which may lead to a decrease in blood pressure or increase in cardiac output when given at high doses.
