DU125530 is a serotonergic drug that acts as a 5-HT4 receptor agonist. It has been shown to have antidepressant effects in mice, and is being developed for the treatment of depression. DU125530 can be used to inhibit 5-HT2 receptors and 5-HT1A receptors, which are known to be involved in the development of depression. It also inhibits the reuptake of serotonin by extracellular monoamine transporters (EMT) and has an inhibitory effect on 5-HT2 receptors. This drug is also a potent antagonist at some 5-HT1A receptors, which may contribute to its antidepressant activity.
