2-Iodophenyl isocyanide is a compound that is a dimer of 2-iodoaniline. It has been shown to form hydrogen bonds with sulfide, biomolecular, and spontaneous. The potassium salt of 2-iodophenyl isocyanide can be used in chemistry as a stable and synthetic reagent for the conversion of amines into imines. The yields are high, with 93% yield obtained by reacting pyridine with potassium iodide in acetone. The crystal structure of 2-iodophenyl isocyanide has also been determined, which showed it to be stable.
