CAS:Thyroxine glucuronide is a diphenyl ether that has been detected in the urine of humans and animals as a result of the metabolism of thyroxine (T4). The compound is excreted in the urine unchanged, or after being hydrolyzed to form either 3,5-diiodothyronine glucuronide or 3-iodothyronamine glucuronide. It is also excreted in wastewater from on-line chemical processing. The compound can be detected by methods such as clinical chemistry, chromatography, and immunoassays. High values are found in Sprague-Dawley rats that have been treated with multidrugs or multidrug resistance-associated protein.
