CAS:Tetrabutylphosphonium chloride is an ionic, acid complex that is soluble in water or organic solvents. It has been used in a number of reactions as a catalyst and reagent. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy shows that TBPCl has a hydroxyl group and reacts with the reaction solution to form an acid complex. It also has high values for activity index and water vapor pressure. TBPCl is used to treat metabolic disorders, such as diabetes mellitus type II, by stimulating insulin secretion from the pancreas. This drug also inhibits the release of glucose into the bloodstream by blocking potassium channels located in pancreatic beta cells.
