Aldol 458 acetate is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It is an enzyme substrate that can be used in the detection of β-galactosidase, alkaline phosphatase, and other enzymes. Aldol 458 acetate can be used for the detection of β-galactosidase by chemiluminescence or bioluminescence. It has been shown to have high purity and high quality as well as being a ligand that can be conjugated with a fluorescent dye to provide a fluorescent substrate. Aldol 458 acetate can also be used in culture media for the growth of bacteria.
