Cloridrato de 1-etil-3-(3'-dimetilaminopropil)carbodiimida, comumente referido como EDC, é um carbodiimida solúvel em água usada principalmente como agente de acoplamento na síntese de peptídeos e outras aplicações envolvendo a formação de ligações amida. Facilita a ativação de ácidos carboxílicos, permitindo que reagem com aminas para formar ligações amida estáveis. O EDC é caracterizado por sua capacidade de promover reações em condições brandas, tornando-o adequado para biomoléculas sensíveis.
