1-(2-Ethylphenyl)-5-[[5-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-furanyl]methylene]-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-pyrimidinetrione is a protein inhibitor that binds to and inhibits the activation of the receptor for the peptide hormone calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP). It is a competitive inhibitor of CGRP with a Ki value of 0.7 nM. 1-(2-Ethylphenyl)-5-[[5-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-furanyl]methylene]-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-pyrimidinetrione is also an antibody and has been shown to be effective in preventing neuronal death in animal models of Alzheimer's disease.
