Piroxicam é um medicamento anti-inflamatório não esteroidal (AINE) usado principalmente por suas propriedades analgésicas e anti-inflamatórias. CAS:<p>Piroxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has minimal toxicity. It is active against squamous cell cancer and other tumor cells, but not against normal cells. Piroxicam blocks the production of prostaglandins (PGE2) by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase. This inhibition leads to decreased inflammation and pain. Piroxicam also has anti-inflammatory properties and has been shown to be effective in rat models of rheumatoid arthritis. Piroxicam can cause a variety of side effects, including headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, rash, itching or dry skin.
