It is used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases and infectious diseases. Isonicotinoyl chloride HCl has been shown to inhibit nitric oxide synthase, which leads to an inhibition of inflammatory reactions in various tissues. This compound also inhibits p. aeruginosa and alkylthio group, which may be due to its coordination geometry or aromatic hydrocarbon.
