    <p>1-(8-Phosphonooctyl)-7-deazaxanthine is an organic compound that inhibits endothelial cell growth. It has been shown to inhibit the phosphorylation of intracellular proteins, leading to a reduction in the activity of tyrosine kinases and protein kinase C. 1-(8-Phosphonooctyl)-7-deazaxanthine is also a noncompetitive inhibitor of phosphonate metabolism, with an inhibitory potency of 0.1 μM. This compound has been shown to be an anticancer agent in vitro and in vivo, but not as potent as other known drugs such as doxorubicin or cisplatin.</p>
