The reaction mechanism involves nitration of 2-amino pyridine with hydrogen peroxide to produce 3-nitro pyridine followed by hydrolysis to form 2-amino-3 nitropyridine. This reaction produces two dihedral angles in the molecule, one between the nitrogen and oxygen atoms and another between the nitrogen atom and carbon atom bonded to it. The functional groups present on this molecule are an amino group, a nitro group, and an amide group.
