N-(4-Aminobenzenesulfonyl)octadecanamide is a transcriptional regulator that binds to the basic protein and regulates the transcription of genes. It has been shown to be effective in treating autoimmune diseases, such as arthritis, by blocking the production of inflammation-causing cytokines. N-(4-Aminobenzenesulfonyl)octadecanamide also inhibits cell proliferation and promotes apoptosis in malignant brain cancer cells. This drug may also be used to treat metabolic disorders, such as surfactant deficiency.
