CAS:Clonazepam Related Compound A is a synthetic compound that belongs to the benzodiazepine class of drugs. It is a metabolite of clonazepam, which is used as an anticonvulsant, sedative, and anxiolytic. Clonazepam Related Compound A is synthesized by reacting acetonitrile with 2-chloro-6-nitrobenzoyl chloride in the presence of a base. The reaction yields the desired product when carried out under proper conditions. The compound has been found to be more sensitive than clonazepam in animal tests for antipsychotic activity. The patent for this compound was granted on March 3, 1978.
