CAS:L-Serine is a non-essential amino acid that is used in the biosynthesis of proteins, phospholipids and other important biomolecules. L-Serine has been shown to be a pro-apoptotic protein that can induce apoptosis in mammalian cells and inhibit the growth of cancer cells. L-Serine also has physiological effects on energy metabolism and enzyme activities, which are mediated by its ability to modulate intracellular levels of phosphate groups. In vivo studies have shown that L-serine deficiency can lead to the accumulation of mitochondrial membrane potential and intramolecular hydrogen, which are biochemical properties that may contribute to its pro-apoptotic effects.
