CAS:Produto ControladoArjungenin is a natural compound that has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects in animal models. Arjungenin is a dpp-iv inhibitor, and it is thought to inhibit the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-IV) by binding to its active site. The inhibition of DPP-IV leads to an increase in the levels of insulin and adiponectin, which are important for glucose homeostasis. Arjungenin has been shown to have inhibitory properties against rat liver microsomes, 3T3-L1 preadipocytes, and experimental models. It also has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of metoprolol succinate and other beta blockers, which may lead to drug interactions. Arjungenin has been found in plants such as "Arjunolic acid" or "Arjunetin", but the most common source is from "Arjuna" tree bark
