Descrição:
Piperacilina é um antibiótico penicilínico semissintético que é usado principalmente para tratar uma variedade de infecções bacterianas. É eficaz contra um amplo espectro de bactérias gram-positivas e gram-negativas, incluindo Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Piperacilina atua inibindo a síntese da parede celular bacteriana, levando à lise celular e morte. O composto é tipicamente administrado por injeção, pois não é bem absorvido quando tomado por via oral.
