CAS:Enoxaparin sodium is a low molecular weight heparin that is used to prevent blood clots and reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack in patients with atrial fibrillation, deep vein thrombosis, or pulmonary embolism. It is also used to treat heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) caused by an immune response to heparin. The mechanism of action for enoxaparin sodium involves binding to antithrombin III and activating coagulation factors. Enoxaparin sodium has been shown to be more efficient than other methods of activating coagulation factors, such as activated clotting time (ACT). Enoxaparin sodium has been shown to be effective for the treatment of cervical cancer when given in combination with radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
