CE-245677 is a tropomyosin-derived peptide hormone that has been shown to have potent platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) receptor activation in vitro and in vivo. This compound is also able to activate the multikinase, which is an enzyme that controls cellular proliferation. CE-245677 has been shown to inhibit tumor vasculature growth and colorectal carcinoma cell growth. CE-245677 also has pharmacokinetic properties that are desirable for clinical development, including a short half-life and high clearance rate from the body.
CE-245677 is currently in Phase II clinical trials for pediatric use with activated platelets, as well as Phase I clinical trials for cancer indications.
