Descrição:
Samário é um elemento metálico de cor prateada classificado como um lantânio na tabela periódica, com o número atômico 62. É relativamente estável no ar e não mancha facilmente, embora possa reagir com água e ácidos para formar hidróxido de Samário e sais de Samário. Samário exibe um alto ponto de fusão e é conhecido por suas propriedades magnéticas, tornando-o útil na produção de ímãs permanentes, particularmente ímãs de Samário-cobalto, que são conhecidos por sua alta resistência à desmagnetização.
