Descrição:
Vanádio é um metal de transição com o número atômico 23 e é representado pelo símbolo V na tabela periódica. É caracterizado por sua aparência cinza-prateada e é conhecido por sua alta resistência e resistência à corrosão. Vanádio exibe múltiplos estados de oxidação, tipicamente variando de -1 a +5, sendo +5 o mais estável e comum em compostos. Tem um ponto de fusão de aproximadamente 1910°C e um ponto de ebulição em torno de 3407°C, indicando sua estabilidade em altas temperaturas. Vanádio é encontrado principalmente na natureza na forma de vanadinite e outros minerais, e muitas vezes é extraído de subprodutos da produção de ferro e aço. Este metal é utilizado em várias aplicações, incluindo a produção de ligas de aço de alta resistência, catalisadores em reações químicas e na fabricação de certos tipos de baterias. Além disso, compostos de Vanádio são estudados por seus potenciais papéis biológicos e aplicações na medicina, particularmente no manejo do diabetes.
