Descrição:
Dextrano é um polissacarídeo ramificado complexo composto por unidades de glicose ligadas principalmente por ligações glicosídicas α(1→6), com ligações α(1→3) ocasionais. É produzido por certas bactérias, como Leuconostoc mesenteroides, e é comumente utilizado em várias aplicações devido à sua biocompatibilidade e não toxicidade. Dextrano é solúvel em água, formando uma solução viscosa, e exibe um alto peso molecular, que pode variar dependendo da fonte e do método de produção. Suas propriedades incluem ser um estabilizador, agente espessante e um meio para entrega de medicamentos em farmacêuticos.
