Quinoline-2-sulfonamide is a quinoline derivative that is used for the treatment of cancer and inflammatory diseases. It also has anti-viral effects against herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1) and cytomegalovirus (CMV). Quinoline-2-sulfonamide inhibits the activation of toll-like receptor 4, which prevents proinflammatory cytokine production. In addition, this drug can inhibit 5-hydroxytryptamine7 (5HT7) receptors. Quinoline derivatives have been shown to have various activities in animal models, including neurotoxicity and carcinogenicity.
