CAS:3,5-Dinitrobenzoic acid is a chemical substance that is used to treat bowel disease. It has been shown to have a good effect on the treatment of diseases caused by bacteria, such as Clostridium difficile and Escherichia coli. 3,5-Dinitrobenzoic acid is an organic compound that belongs to the group of p2 compounds. The mechanism for its antibacterial activity is currently unknown. It has been found to be soluble in water at a concentration of 0.1 M and can be detected in wastewater samples. 3,5-Dinitrobenzoic acid has been shown to react with 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid to form 2-nitrobenzyl alcohol and 4-chlorophenylhydrazine. This reaction also produces hydrogen gas that can cause explosions when mixed with air or other combustible materials. The structure consists of two benzene rings attached to nitro groups
