3-Chloro-5,6-dihydropyridin-2(1H)-one
CAS:3-Chloro-5,6-dihydropyridin-2(1H)-one is a chemical compound that has been shown to have antiparasitic properties against Leishmania. The molecule is able to inhibit the growth of promastigotes and surface-exposed amastigotes of Leishmania infantum by inhibiting the synthesis of fatty acids. 3-Chloro-5,6-dihydropyridin-2(1H)-one also blocks the synthesis of glutathione, a major antioxidant in cells that protects against oxidative damage. This compound has been shown to be efficacious in vitro against cancer cells, including A549 cells.
