Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Human Insulin also has a high binding affinity for erythrocytes and penetrates these cells easily. When injected into humans, this antibody binds to the erythrocytes in the blood stream and prevents their passage through capillary walls into tissues such as muscle or fat cells, thereby preventing glycolysis (the conversion of glucose into energy) in those tissues
