Strontium hydroxide octahydrate is used in the sugar industry for its purification, oil and paint industry to improve its drying properties and as an active ingredient in depilatory hair removal products. It is also used as a raw material for manufacturing of other products of strontium salts. This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand.
