Aluminum silicate is used to prepare aluminum-silicate polymer composite (PASiC), which is an inorganic coagulant used in water treatment. It is used as a catalyst for the pyrolysis of rice husk to crude bio -oil, which upgraded to supercritical ethanol. Further, it is used as filler in paper, rubber and in paints. This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand.
