6-Methoxy-2-naphthaldehyde is used as a diagnostic reagent in tumor studies involving aldehyde dehydrogenase enzymes. In addition it is used in organic synthesis reactions forming fluorescent substrates for inhibition studies relating to hypertension and vascular inflammation.
