This chemical is also used to make p-hydroxybenzoic acid, which is found in plants, animals, and humans.
2-Methyl-5-oxo-1-cyclopentenyl Propionate reacts with calcium carbonate to create 2,5 oxo 1 cyclopentenyl propionic acid and carbon dioxide gas.
