Phenylacetaldehyde Dimethyl Acetal is a colorless liquid that can be used as an optical sensor for hydroxyl groups. Phenylacetaldehyde Dimethyl Acetal is extracted from acetate, which is a fatty acid found in plants and animals. It can also be synthesized by reacting phenol with formaldehyde.
