Informação sobre produto
2,3-Dihydrospiro[indene-1,4'-piperidine] is a synthetic compound that has been used as a model system for the study of the interaction between neurotransmitters and their receptors. In particular, it has been shown to be an agonist at 5-HT1A receptors, D2 receptors, and acetylcholine. The synthesis of 2,3-dihydrospiro[indene-1,4'-piperidine] proceeds by the condensation of ethylene with phenylacetaldehyde in the presence of sodium hydroxide and water to form 1-phenylethanol. This product is then reacted with phosphoryl chloride to yield 2,3-dihydrospiro[indene-1,4'-piperidine], which can be purified by recrystallization from acetone.
