• Descrição: Protocetraric acid is an inorganic acid that is found in the plant Usnea longissima, which is a lichen. Protocetraric acid has been shown to have anticancer activity and antimicrobial properties. It also scavenges free radicals and inhibits candida growth. Protocetraric acid has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in mice with colitis. Protocetraric acid may be effective against influenza virus and Streptococcus faecalis, but it does not inhibit the growth of other bacteria such as Escherichia coli or Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
