Descrição:Phenyl carbamate is a potent antagonist that inhibits the production of acid by reacting with an activated enzyme. It is used in pharmaceutical preparations to treat iron-deficiency anaemia and inflammatory diseases. Phenyl carbamate also has an effective dose of 3-5 mg/kg and is used in clinical development for the treatment of infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis, which are caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The stereoselectivity of phenyl carbamate has been shown to be effective against inflammation because it blocks the activity of COX-2 receptors without affecting COX-1 receptors, which can result in pain reduction.
