It also causes cell lysis and hepatic steatosis in mice. This compound has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes such as acetylcholinesterase, butyrylcholinesterase, and carboxylesterase. 1-Bromoheptane can be used as a model for studying the effects on congestive heart failure by increasing cardiac workloads or decreasing myocardial contractility.
