Descrição:1-Bromoheptane is a reactive compound that is used in the preparation of p-hydroxybenzoic acid, which is an intermediate in the synthesis of many natural compounds. 1-Bromoheptane has been shown to have biological properties and to inhibit mitochondrial membrane potential. It also causes cell lysis and hepatic steatosis in mice. This compound has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes such as acetylcholinesterase, butyrylcholinesterase, and carboxylesterase. 1-Bromoheptane can be used as a model for studying the effects on congestive heart failure by increasing cardiac workloads or decreasing myocardial contractility.
