Stearonitrile is a chemical species that is used as a detergent additive. It can be used in the production of coenzyme Q10, which is an enzyme cofactor. Stearonitrile has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and it also has antifungal and antioxidant activities. Stearonitrile is synthesized by the Langmuir adsorption isotherm from sodium carbonate and a fatty acid or its derivative.
